CITY OF ANNA MARIA URGES ALL RESIDENTS TO REVIEW AND KNOW THE STATE OF FLORIDA’S "OIL SPILL REPORTING GUIDE"

Even though, at this time, Anna Maria Island beaches remain in pristine condition and under no imminent threat of oil, the City of Anna Maria continues to prepare for oil in the event circumstances change.

In conjunction with this effort, the City of Anna Maria urges all residents currently on the island to study and familiarize themselves with the attached State of Florida "Oil Spill Reporting Guide." (pdf 399.31 kB)

The State's Oil Spill Reporting Guide includes important information and phone numbers for steps to take if the oil spill does impact our community. Additionally, the City has attached "What Floridians Should Know About Reporting Oil," (pdf 190.71 kB) which has been issued by the State of Florida.

The City of Anna Maria advises residents that in addition to any reports made to the State of Florida, that residents also notify the City of Anna Maria Sheriff's Department of any suspected oil related beach impacts (941) 778-8899.
